hi folks..
im b. moved from portland ,or to bham,al awhile back, and im apparently one of ten or so people who actively ride in the city. its really killing me coming back to this town, with its one bike lane and bike-unfriendly motorists, but im still out there doing it. looking forward to posting here.

Welcome, I live just east of you in Atlanta and we both live in bike unfriendly places. I guess we need to make people aware that we too have a right to the roads one ride at a time. Jeff

thanks for the warm welcome. i hate to hear that atlanta's still so bike-negative. i met a guy at a show at the star bar last year who had been clotheslined by this guy in a truck while riding
down euclid by what used to be a school past little 5 points. he was also talking about people throwing stuff at him and trying to run him and his friends off the road constantly.

Its good to see a jump of 10% in the number of cyclists in a city. Bicycle lanes dont make a cycle friendly city - its people out riding and being seen to be enjoying themselves. So keep riding and enjoy yourself.
