Hello from Spokane- WA

What a great forum! I'm glad I was referred. Just read the posts from Koffee Brown. What a hoot! Anyway, as I've stated I'm from Spokane. I'm a roadie that finds it easier to ride by myself rather than coordinate rides with my friends and our busy schedules. However, we do meet up and take trips to ride centuries in our neighboring cities. Going to Wenatchee this weekend for the Apple Century and would love to hear from anyone that has done it or will be there. I look forward to getting to know everyone. Yvonne

Have you ever encountered Spokane-based Sister Madonna Buder, the 70-something "flying nun" of the triathlon circuit?

John,

Why yes I have seen Sister Madonna at several triathlons. She is an inspiration. I hope to be doing 1/2 of what she is doing when I'm in my 70's! Yvonne

Hey Jeff, I knew I'd find someone from Washington! To answer your questions I don't ride with the Baddlands. I sure wish I had the time as they seem like a great group of people. Have you ever rode the Wenatchee Apple Ride? Yvonne

I haven't. I was asked to do the bike portion of the relay they have their every year once, but couldn't do it. Great town. I did the Badlands cyclocross series one year in Cheney and rode for Washington State University out of Pullman. Have you ever ridden in the state championshps (Road, Crit, Time Trial) here in Walla Walla?

I have wanted to ride in Walla Walla, but it hasn't been in the cards as of yet. Do you have any century rides or 24 hour rides there? Thats more my speed.

No, but we have superb mountain biking and recreational road riding. In fact, I have always wanted to ride from Walla Walla to Spokane ... that would be a good one.

If your looking for a good ride you should try the Seattle to Portland ride. I've had a great time the past 3 years doing the STP. It's in July. I should ask if you have done that one before I assume you haven't. I'm not certain how well I would do going from Walla Walla to Spokane..... I think the wineries would get the best of me

Ah yes, you have heard of the wineries. No, I haven't done the Seattle to Portland ... I know quite a few people who do though. It sounds like a great time.
