Hello from Oklahoma

Hello, My name is Gregg and I'm 53. I am from Moore, OK. and just getting back into bicycling. My road bike is blue and made by giant. It is a 26 speed and I took it for a 40 min. ride yesterday and I am alittle sore today. I am also retired from the Army National Guard after 26 1/2 yrs. and did a tour in Iraq 2004-2005. My goal is to lose alittle weight and try to ride long distance with other bicycle groups. I think for right now I need to take is slow and build up to that goal. Maybe next year I can ride in the redbud tour.

Welcome to Bikeforums! I returned to riding when I was 52. It really can improve fitness. A 60 to 70 mile ride should be possible after 6 months of riding 3 times a week. Just increase the distances a few miles a week.
