Bikes in Japan
Hey everyone.
I'm doing a large project on a marketing plan for folding bikes in Japan. I could really use some concrete information on what bikes are popular in Japan, and their brand names. Any information (even personal preferences) would be greatly appreciated.

This is my personal opinion.
Recently, fording bikes are popular in Japan. Some of my friends have ones. The reason why they buy is they are compact and don't need large parking space. So they are not ride on bike for hobby. They buy bikes at discount store, so many of those bikes have no model names and no brand names. After they buy them, most of them say, " It is hard for riding, I should to buy a bike of large size of tire."
I think the popularity of folding bike is getting down soon.
How do you think about it?
I am not so good at English, so please forgive my inpolite English.

Sora, you did a very good job with the English language. I lived in the south part of Japan for two years back many years ago. Yamaguchi Prefecture. Even then, bikes were used as a mode of transportation and they were mostly department store no name bikes. There are many apartment dwellers that may be interested in a folding bike, but I think the low end fairly fat tired bikes is what they really want. Jeff
