New in Houston!
I've been riding my mountain bike on the neighborhood streets as part of my weight loss journey. I am looking to step up my riding a bit and getting a road bike. This seemed like a great forum, so I thought I'd join. I'm a stay at home dad of eight month old twins, so riding time is tough until they can sit in a trailer behind me. But I still have my weekends when the wife takes over.

I also live in Porter and on a weight loss theme and would be willing to talk or ride with you to show you some routes in the area.
I believe you need (how many ?) so many post before you can use the personal message feature . . so when you have that accomplished you can PM me
again welcome to Bike Forms there are many experienced riders here that can answer most questions about bicycles. I have used BF resources many times and read many more posts to help me make decisions about riding and purchases

Welcome to BF!
WARNING---Little kids LOVE to be biked around via trailer, bolt-on rear rack-style kid seat or kiddie backpack---it doesn’t matter. The little buggers get ADDICTED to it with amazing speed and they get surprisingly aggressive about communicating their desire to be taken for another ride with even more amazing speed. You have been warned. (P.S: “Been there, done that”) Seriously speaking, your kids will absolutely love it as soon as they’re old enough to get into it. Start saving for that trailer right now!
@Jamesw2---It’s 50 posts before you can send PM’s.

I find that even a 15 minute ride in the evening after work makes me feel great. Don't wait for the weekend! Ask your wife for a 15 minute bike recess in the evening.
