Newbie from NOLA
Just getting back into riding for pleasure and exercise. Refurbished my 25y old Benotto Turbo Col SL with aero tubes and Campy SR components. Love this bike and enjoy riding tho distance rides in New Orleans are not easy given the cars, streets, temperature/humidity. Enjoying it nevertheless.

Hans - If you want to do longer rides, you're going to have to go north of Lake Pontchartrain. Google "Crescent City Cyclists" and get in touch with them. I rode with them for three years when I was working in NOLA, and they're a great bunch of people. They usually have rides north of the lake each weekend, and also do slower rides in downtown to visit sites and have breakfast.
