Hi from California
I wouldn't call myself a cyclist yet, but I just bought a folding bike (Brompton) to start commuting to work a few days. I also have an old road bike that my Dad built for me from a used frame when I went away to college 30 some years ago. It is a Raleigh International. I had a shop rebuild it about 17 years ago, but I moved to the mountains of Southern California 15 years ago and haven't ridden it since. I am now commuting (by air) up to the Bay Area where there are lots of bike trails and I am staying about 3 miles from the office I work in.
This forum has already been a great help in deciding what to buy and how to outfit the bike. I am 51 years old. I am a runner, but have been struggling to motivate myself lately and my mileage has dropped off. Adding cycling to the mix has helped make exercising interesting again.
