Hello from the hot windy plains of Texas
Hi, I'm Mark and I'm an addict...
Been cycling since a kid, but bought my first 10 speed when in college around 1970...a Schwinn Super Sport. Then I went upscale (for the time) about a year later and bought my early '70's Bottecchia. Still have her hanging on the garage wall. The original wheels, with tubular rims and Campy hubs, are in the attic. Rode on tub's for a long time, since clinchers weren't like they are now.
Had a bout with major back problems and getting back to cycling again on my Litespeed. Man I love that bike...so smooth, agile and responsive! Looking forward to loosing my extra poundage and all the fun of cycling.
Can't remember where I heard it and can't claim I coined it but many mornings I remember this phrase:
The roar of the wind,
The whir of the chain,
And the hiss of the tires!
It along with the chirping of the birds makes me glad to still be here.

Welcome to BF. Glad you are returning to biking. I ride around the northeast side of Houston.
