New old guy from Texas
Hello,
I'm a mid 50's guy from Texas, have been riding since I was little. I really started riding a lot when I was about 14 and got a JC Penney 10 speed bike. Used to ride that thing every where, even managed to do wheelies on it! Still have that bike in the attic somewhere. I then progresses to a 12 speed Peugot Bordeeux in ~'88 and proceeded to log 1000's of miles on that one. My next bike was a 18 speed Nishiki Hybrid, which is what I've been using the last ~20 years.
Do some work on my bikes but nothing too involved. I've changed flates, tires, seats, pedals and re-cabled brakes and derailleurs, and trued tires. No drivetrain work or assembly work(forks, headsets....).
Have recently started cycling a few more miles because I decided to get serious about losing some weight this years and I needed to exercise more--so cycling it was.
I only go out about twice a week, about 15 miles per ride. Hoping to ride about 3 times a week, about 20-25 miles per ride.
Just hobby/fitness rides, nothing serious.
Anyway, looks like a great forum with lots of good information, hopefully I can contribute every now and then.
Felix

Hey Felix,
Welcome to Bike Forums from a League City road rider.
Takes time to get back in shape. Stay with it and keep it fun.
Get that old bike out of the attic and show it some love.
Look around and have fun posting.
