Hi and thanks. I was walking my dog yesterday and the thought occurred to take a side street that we've never walked down before. In a few hundred yards, I looked to my left and there it was... a racing bike (that's what us kids called them) someone discarded. It had no seat or pedals, the tires were flat and it needed a cleaning up badly.
I didn't recognize the name so I picked it up. Hmmm... this isn't your typical walmart junker, is it. So I went to the house just to be SURE and sure enough, the guy said it was a project bike that he would probably never get to and I was welcome to it. So anyway, it's a Centurion (bet you guessed that ha ha) Ironman Dave Scott! According to the serial number it was made in 88. My plan is to strip it and fix it up but I'll need some help with picking gear and advice.
I've been wanting a GOOD bike for ages now but can't afford one. The closest I've come is a new $800 Trek. This is so great!
