Street clothes over Spandex?
I can use street clothes over spandex and not hurt the spandex? I am going to a party and I am car-free, but its a bit of a ride so I don't have to bike in street clothes, so I would put some street clothes over. I just don't want to look like a fool, the host of the party is really cute and geekly. So I don't want to scare her away.
Thanks,

I've done it before, and will do it again, with no ill effects on the lycra.

It won't hurt anything but none the less standing around at a party in your chamois for a few hours would be very uncomfortable imo so you'll want to change anyway I would think.

You won't hurt the spandex but you're not going to be comfortable for very long. Why not carry the street clothes and change when you get to the party? Then you won't smell quite as much either.

You live in Madison, one of the most bike friendly places I have ever been. I'm sure she must know people that cycle. Just walk into the party with your lycra on with your "party clothes" in a bag and ask to be shown to the bathroom. Go inside and change. I am guessing you must like this girl, and hope she may like you. If she does, the bike shorts will give her a chance to check out your butt. If she likes you, she will be looking.

Hahahaha.
I change into my bike shorts in the afternoon and wear them under my slacks.
When the time bell rings I can just slip off my slacks, put on my bike clothes in my cubicle and go.
Yeah, the chamois is a bit bulky, but no one notices.

I wear lycra under street clothes quite often and neither them nor me is harmed.

Just put your strett clothes over your cycling clothes before you get to the party. Then walk into the party say "Hello" or whatever . . . and wonder over the the bathroom and take off your cycling clothes from under your street clothes. And your DONE! No body notices anything : )

get some baggies. They look like surfer shorts and have pockets. Just right for off the bike - except for the chamois wedgie.
