I know, the nerve of me posting in LCF. But there was a brief article in BusinessWeek about a woman from Zipcars that started a new site. It's called Goloco. It's a "service that helps people quickly arrange to share rides between friends, neighbors, and colleagues."
I thought this might be of interest here in LCF, as it seems like the kind of site that would help those that are hanging on to cars for the most infrequent of trips to finally cut it loose. Likewise, if you are totally car-free, but do require a ride once in a while, it could be useful. I'll probably blog about it later too.
Or you could just throw me down the well.

I can see that being useful. Wehn I had a car I gave rides to a lot of people. I still offer to pick up stuff for neighbors when I ride my bike to the store, even though they have cars. And I occasionally ask friends for a ride to get bulky items or whatnot. I'm not a total purist.

I just saw an angry mob headed this way wearing "I hate cars" t-shirts brandishing pitchforks and carrying a piece of rope with a noose at one end. You better run mate!

...are you in town? (in Oz?) if you're in Sydney I have a cold one in the downstairs fridge with 'Brian' written on it, let me know when you'll be here to consume it and I'll spark up the barbie.

Anyone who has ever driven in Sydney, near Paddy's, would be giving up their car. No doubt.

Watching you land and go in the 25 foot bay area would be something to behold. Straight out of a James Bond movie.
