All you need to do is to pop over to the winter cycling forum.

Those folks are nuts.

I suppose the presence of wolves is a good motivator for speed.

Those people on that trail don't have to worry about SUVs and bad drivers that go too fast and don't leave you a lot of room on slushy streets.

I don't mind biking during Winter when there is a good base of snow. When it is half snow half concrete then you get into danger-ville. And the town drunk is me.

I've been cycling around Anchorage all winter, and if I can do it anyone can. Just get good studs on the mountain bike.

You are an inspiration!

As for me, 52 years old, had a heart attack 7 years ago, lifelong obese couch potato....and I biked to work every day of the last several winters in Michigan.

(Also on a MTB with studs...3 studs....the 2 tires and me)

My dad had a heart attack three years younger than me now. I've been riding for around 7 years and my heart doesn't even work hard. He was an avid driver never got out of the car. I count biking & walking and semi-car free for this. My doctor hates me because I drink & smoke and i'm healthier than her 5 years younger than me. Guess cancer is my big worry but heck I'm having fun

That picture is awsome! Thanks... Oh yea, I try to ride through the winter..just hate having to clean the bike every other week..
