Local news in the Los Angeles vicinity. A South Pasadena-a suburban city next to Los Angeles-man built his own dream vehicle in order to save energy costs.

I have helped a little bit with something similar. You can actually get up to about 40 mph on the ones that have been built before I came along. The range wasn't so great though. It was only about 30 miles. However, that was with those heavy ass lead acid batteries. With newer batteries you could probably do much better. Also, our budget was about $8,000 in total for the vehicle. If we had more of a budget we could have done much better.
