I'm one less car!
Today, I got rid a decent vehicle to go "one less car." Last year at this time I was thinking pretty soon I would need a new vehicle. But, since hanging around LCF and Commutting, my transportaion views have changed. We still have one car but, we have cut our mileage in half. Thanks.

In the right lane
I had the same revelation after spending a while reading LCF posts. I used to be in the habit of replacing my car every 5-7 years. Now, I rarely use the car and even my wife seems to be catching the LCF bug. Who needs a car?
Now, if only my kids would stop borrowing the vehicle.

Me too! Doesn't it feel liberating?
A bit different for me though, as 1-1=0
Congratulations!

surfin the commuting board convinced me I could go w/o my truck, I sold it 2 weeks ago. So, we have 1 vehicle and it's great! I've gone as far as velcroing the garage door opener to my handlebars...

I still remember the feeling of liberation when i watched that old, broke-down hatchback being towed away....
It was 3-1/2 years ago, and I haven't even been to a car lot, looked at a car ad in a paper, paid an insurance premium, (I DID renew my license last year, though, just in case I needed to drive something) or been to an auto parts store.
Snow sucks, as cars driving over it turns it to ice, and it was only last month when I found some studded tires for less than $100 apiece; other than that, I'm riding! I commute, pay bills, do family fun rides w/ nephew(s) & my daughter, even have a trailer in case I need to haul...I dunno, groceries or laundry, maybe? Used it for both at various times.
I'm absolutely loving it, and it's gonna take something earth-shattering to make me buy a car again.
