95 out of 100 Walkers' Paradise! I live in the East Town part of downtown Milwaukee, WI and I would of assumed it would score very high!

My new house is 69, the old one was 63. The walking is much more pleasant where I live now--pretty neighborhoods, the river, artsy-fartsy business district.

It says 29, 39 less than my age. I've been car free for 21 years. We don't have Modo's teenagers, we have rich tourists with giant SUV's who think 1.5 lane roads are freeways and phone booths. The locals are much better, they will pick up a stranger walking with groceries in the winter on those few days the roads are not bikeable and say "You're the dood with the bike".
Probably my score is really 20 since I don't like their choice of grocery, bars etc.

They still haven't fixed the damn thing. Within 2 miles of my house I have a bar, a coffee shop, 2 sort of restaurants, a grocery store, a medical clinic, a couple of stop and robs and my bank...and I live on 40 acres. They have all of the above businesses listed, but in the wrong locations.
I am currently in Iowa working and the walk score here is 58...which is insane considering I can see just about everything I need from my hotel window AND they have sidewalks, walk signals and reasonably courteous drivers.

My new house has:
walk score 55 (somewhat walkable)
bike score 80 (very bikeable)
I agree with these scores.
But where is everybody finding a transit score?

WOW!!! I bet you will be the winner. I had read that Montreal is becoming extremely walkable and bikeable. IIRC, Mikael Colville-Andersen said it is the only bike city in North America.

I think you get a poor walk score just because of the length of the walk. So if you like to walk, a bad walk score is not necessarily a bad walk.

Huh, I got a 49 and I'm within a mile of 3 grocery stores, 11 restaurants, 3 liquor stores, 2 big box retailers, and various accountants, optometrists, dentists, attorneys, pharmacists, coffee shops, and a gym.
Edit: I guess it factors in the commute time to 'downtown'. Well, I live in a small outer ring suburb. Our downtown was important back when river and rail traffic was all the rage, but now it's just bars and antique shops. I rarely visit 'downtown'.

Yes, My walk score (55) doesn't reflect that the neighborhood is beautiful, shaded, and very pleasant to walk in. Also a couple of the nearby stores they list are not really places you would want to shop in, for more than domestic beer or blunt wraps.

Hah, well that would blow my number out of the water since I work 23 miles out of town. As nice as my little town is for everything else there really isn't much (well paid) work here.

I tried putting in my workplace. It didn't change my scores, even thouh I'm only a seven minute walk from work.

Walk 6
Transit 0
Bike 0
I agree with the transit score, but 0 for bike, WTF? We're 2 minutes from a MUT, there's a reasonable amount of bike infrastructure, and plenty of easily accessible destinations.

36 Walk, 31 Transit, 39 Bike.
I have to wonder what it would take to get a Bike score over, say, 60; I doubt anywhere in TOWN would achieve that!

I got a 58 here in bozeman. It says I don't have any grocery stores or parks. I beg to differ. There are 3 grocery stores within 1.5 miles of my house. And there's a park across the street.
How are you guys getting the bike score? Mine was just blank...

Where we are now ... 38. And yet Rowan and I do quite a bit of walking there.
Where we were before ... 45.
And before that ... not on the list. But as far as we were concerned, it was really walkable.
