Only thing I don't like with your approach is that occasionally things will fall out of the trailer.

Normally I put items in a cloth bag, tie it tightly and then put it in the trailer.

Dude I have a cover for that goes over top of it I just took it off to take the picture so you can see inside.

Mine has a few problems even with the cover down. I lost a small bag out the side one day...

One of these days I am going to upgrade to a Burley.

Are you doing some off roading with your trailer cause I haven't had any problem with mine. I put the cover on it is completely enclosed and the cover fits tightly around the frame and those are plastic windows on the side. So nothing falls out the side
