Dream bike
Allot of people have dream cars from Ferrari or Ford F150. But being car-free, a bike is basically the car of our world. So what is that one bike that you always just dream of having?

This. And happily, I already own it. I just got back from riding, though I left the trailer at home.

The L vs H, Bullitt like SmallFront in Denmark has, would be cool, but I've never lived in a place big enough
I could park it inside and they are too nice to leave overnight on the street.

I'd like a cool old school roadster. One of these days I'm going to track down a beaten down Raleigh 3 speed bike and trick it out with nice aluminum bits. I had a buddy who built up a Dunlop with Campy BMX parts and I'd like to do something a little less radical but along the same lines. But then I'd have to deal with that weird Raleigh threading, sigh, .

I am Bi-polar on this issue. I had 5 bikes and cut back to 2 and now am getting back to three. But if we are asking about a N+1 or N+2 it would be one of these two.

I know apples and oranges but much like the Ferrari- F250 question.

I have most of my dream bicycles.
I've wanted a titanium bicycle for years, since I first heard of them, and finally got one in 2010.
I've wanted a touring bicycle for years, since I cut out a photo of one from the newspaper back in the early 1990s, and finally got one in 2012.
I wanted a racing-style bicycle back in the late 1990s, and got one in 2000.
In about 2001, I started thinking about a long distance bicycle which I could use for randonneuring, 24-hour races, and touring ... and got one in 2003. After 50,000+ km including many events and cycling in several countries, sadly, it was stolen in 2010 during a hub-and-spoke tour at Easter. Happily, however, and most unexpectedly, it was recovered just a few months ago. That was a dream come true!!!

Looking forward, we want to get good quality touring-style folding bicycles ... to make our tours and travels a little easier.

I would like a Cruzbike recumbent with front and rear suspension. They've redesigned the model I like to remove the front suspension. Too bad.
An alternative would be an aluminum cruiser with a customized paint job. It would have a front spring fork with a Thudbuster suspension seat post holding up a fat Brooks saddle. Attached to the back of the saddle would be a tool bag that could hold tools and extra inner tubes. At other times I would attach a much larger bag for carrying other sorts of things.
Though I like single speed simple bicycles, this one would have a NuVinci hub. That type of hub would allow a proper chain guard to be installed. The platform pedals would be custom made aluminum blocks with set screws to ensure a good grip. It would have chrome fenders with some paint trim on them. It would also have some form of handlebar basket to haul groceries and other things. The wheels would be painted to match the frame. The crank arms would be alloy 160 mm instead of 170 or 175. It would also have a drum front brake and drum rear brake.

Something like the Velo-Orange Polyvalent; but lugged and with a slightly shorter top tube.

So many bikes... so little time! I have several of my "dream" bikes. There are currently only a couple more (well maybe a few more than that) I would consider buying. One would be a bakesfiet (Workcycles or CETMA) the other a Brompton or Bike Friday folder. One of my "grail" bikes was a 70's Raleigh Superbe another was a rod brake roadster. I have both and ride them regularly.

In the right lane
I had to think about this a moment... as nothing really springs to mind. I guess my dream bike is something vintage French. Mostly I like these because they ride great, cover a lot of uses like commuting and Sunday rides... but the real attraction for me is that many of these are basically tossed out or left to rot in basements.
I just love it when I find an unwanted bike and turn it into something nice. Ye olde Peugeot:

My son is lusting after one of these in lieu of getting a car. Good kid!
(Quest velo with a Sinner hood) Good for all year round and 30mph on the flats at under 200W is an eye opener.
