Do you have any New Year resolutions?

In addition to running a multi-million dollar retail business, it's also within my scope of responsibility to develop, train, and discipline those managers who report to me. The people development part is performance management. My resolution is to correct undesired behaviors and recognize and reward desired performance more quickly and decisively.

I'm now 8 months from turning 50. That's sort of a scary thought even though I know it shouldn't be.
Two of my goals this year:
1. Commute by bike at least twice a week every week no matter the weather.
2. Ride enough to be ready for a 50+ mile ride on my 50th birthday.

Here are a couple of educational paragraphs on military and corporate doublespeak, and how and why they came into being:

I have one traditional style resolution, and that's to cut back on my drinking...
...of coffee at work. I have no plans to stop drinking coffee or tea (which I drink by the pot when I'm at home), but at work I guzzle coffee and it's gotten out of hand lately. I can't go two hours without coffee, and that's absurd.
Less traditionally, I've resolved that this summer I'll finally quit the worthless but pretty well-paying job I've held for the past six years, go for a long bike tour, then come back (or just stop somewhere on the trip?) and find a new line of work entirely.

Your prediction has come true. They call it the delete button. Just go edit the evil double post and choose delete. Give it no reason for deletion and your post will disappear below the waves just like Atlantis.

As I replied to a thread someplace other than here asking, "What year is it"?
It is MMXIV, so don't be carving MMXIII on your stone liths.
With that let's just hope to see each other next year admonishing each other to carve MMXV.
