I don't listen to Rush. I do like Jason Lewis though...

There is absolutely no science disputing climate change. Zero. Come on, this is too important to make a mistake on. Use your brain. Who is bought off--a tenured scientist at a university or some shill on a commercial radio station? Don't make a mistake...your kids will hate you if you get it wrong!

I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Wow, what originality

Wow - I actually appreciate it more, knowing it is a movie reference, so thanks both of you!

Wow, I didn't realize Forbes was quite that dishonest. The headline says:
"Peer-Reviewed Survey Finds Majority Of Scientists Skeptical Of Global Warming Crisis"

If you go to the actual report, it is a survey of engineers and geologists working for oil companies in Alberta, something the Forbes writer doesn't mention at all. Gee, I wonder why?

Always check the source document.

here was my favorite quote from that group of climate change scientists that got stuck in the ice at Christmas time ...............you ready for this one ........................>>>>>> Clitantic scientists trapped in Antarctic ice claim expanding sea ice caused by ‘global warming’

You will find that the source content of global warming denial is always the energy industry and their paid minions. They are the only ones putting out these lies.

Global Cooling: Is an Ice Age Coming?

here is my favorite line in this one ..........................Pedersen said climate scientists know the Earth stopped warming 15 years ago. But the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, of which Pedersen is an expert reviewer, suppressed a recent report from its own scientists that the U.N.'s climate model has been proven wrong.

also odd roody in that same story is a quote from the Un which matches your own statement .........................But politicians removed that embarrassing finding from the final draft. It's as if the alleged danger from climate change can't be wrong because it is now too important............................................It has become a political movement, a cash cow for climate scientists and environmental groups, and a way for world leaders to control economies and people.

CBN News? Well, Dammit, that proves Roody was completely wrong when he said:

It turns out the disinformation also comes from the evangelical press.

"About CBN: CBN is a global ministry committed to preparing the nations of the world for the coming of Jesus Christ through mass media. Using television and the Internet, CBN is proclaiming the Good News in 147 countries and territories, with programs and content in 65 languages. "

Come on, guys, this is embarrassing.

What is embarrassing is the infatic statement that there is "no science" to deny global warming and then disagree with all sources other than known global warming supporters. You do know the public is losing faith in the global warming message? Care to guess why? In fact some may have laughed almost to tears as all of those global warming scientists got stranded in Antartica and it took a helicopter to get them out.
Land how long was it before the major media mentioned who was stranded and why they were there? If we use oven NOAH they have no explication to the extra pack ice at the South Pole. So we could use Roody's statement in another forum, he didn't care what the studies showed about bike use, only what he could see with his eyes.

And this his is why these topics leave the realm of car free and car light. The are political and do not have enough public support to be held as fact. Ever wonder what the people in England and New Jersey think they see with their own eyes?

By the way this is just another question from the WSJ. Doesn't prove or disprove anything but poses questions Anout the last ten years and the computer models; http://m.us.wsj.com/articles/SB10001...21366?mobile=y

Fortunately, public support is not a determining factor in science. In many communities in this country, evolution does not have enough public support to be considered as fact. Nonetheless, it is. Folks used to have the same problem with a round earth revolving around the sun. History amply demonstrates that a plebiscite has no place in science.

Some may indeed have laughed and formed opinions based on scientists being trapped by ice, but this of course has absolutely nothing to do with the science in question and would be an exceedingly poor basis on which to reach a determination.

actually it is a reprint from The August 7 edition of Denmark’s Jyllands-Posten (non liberal controlled media ) that does NOT spew the UN carbon credit policy

As you know, I believe car-free living and the fight against catastrophic global climate change are two subject that go hand in hand and I refuse to be muzzled on this. I make it a policy, however, not to respond to climate change deniers any more than I would reply to someone who rejects natural selection or who believes in the Flat Earth theory.

And the the ten year stall in climate change. Real science like geology tells us we have been through such fluctuations before. And that was well before the Industrial Age. If climate science is so young can they hope to earth studies from thousands of years ago?

And still till will any of the supposition get one person out of a car and onto a bike? Not likely because like Anything else people need to see a change before they believe a change is happening. And maybe more importantly will it make any difference in our lifetime?

jon c. 02-13-14 10:06 PM

I'm not expecting significant change in my lifetime, but I've probably got 3 decades left at best.

Will it get one person out of a car and onto a bike? I'd expect more than one has already moved in that direction spurred in part by concern for the environment. One is a pretty small number in a pretty big country. Will it get enough people on bikes to make any real difference? I very much doubt it.

The last 3 pages of this thread are discussing global warming, which really has more to do with politics than living car free. Feel free to discuss it in the P&R forum.
