That's contrary to the culture I see however even in rural areas. Kids are kept under tight wraps compared to when I was little. I think there were plenty of perverts and other dangers when I was growing up. It just wasn't so hyped in the media like it is now. And children can be pretty wise when it comes to staying away from danger, more so than parents seem to typically believe.
