Volunteering...

Just wondering if there are others out there who volunteer at bicycle-related organizations.

I've volunteered at the local bike collective since 2009. Over those years of recycling old bicycles at the shop, we've seen the organization grow to become a major force in keeping cyclists safe and accommodated on city streets.

But we have volunteers all over the bicycle community. They help with bike parking at events, cleaning up trails, helping poor kids get bikes and helmets... the list is long.

Along with the benefit to the community, volunteering has been a great way to make friends or just get to know more of the cycling community.

Do you get involved? What's that like in your city?
