Longest ride of my life

On May 26, 2015, I went on the longest ride of life. With the exception of 12 miles between Converse and Marion, I rode my bicycle from LaPorte, Indiana, to New Castle, Indiana. I left my home at 3:30 am and arrived at New Castle at 9:00 pm.

The beauty of the trip was spent on the Nickle Plate and the Cardinal Greenway trails.

I certainly wish more of these trails were built.

Great experience and now makes a century seem like a brief run.

that is a long time on a bike. I once did a mountain hike that went from 5:30 am and ended at 11 pm. It involved a 14000 + peak. I was never so tired in my life.

Google Maps tells me that's about 175-180 miles. Nicely done!

It's interesting how your perspective shifts as you ride longer and longer distances. Especially if it goes well, you think, "well, that wasn't so bad. I wonder how much longer I could go!"

The ride was unsupported and because of two wrong turns on the trip, I cannot tell you exactly how many miles. I believe it to be in the area of 154-170 miles.
