Bike route from Denver to S. Dakota?

Hello, I am interested in doing a ride from Denver to Mt. Rushmore with some buddies next summer. Anybody done this? If so could you please share a route. Any info at all is welcomed.

I can send a note to a friend that lives in South Dakota to get a route. He is always driving to Denver.

At least then you will know which roads to stay off of because he is a horrible driver!
