PBP time limits?

I'm curious. For PBP, they have different time limits. How is it determined which time limit you have? I saw that there is 84 and 90 hours for most classes. I'm interested to learn about the ride. Planning to do it next time around.

Google for info, there is a PBP link from the Audax Club Parisien website that explains all. You choose which time limit (80, 84 or 90 hr) you want.
