7 speed Nexus hub for Long Distance

Hi,
Just wanted to know if someone rides a long distance event using the Nexus 7 speed hub and would happy to see this person's bike

Can't say I've ever seen one on a Brevet but I've only done two, and considering people do PBP on fixed gears I don't see why not.

One of the randonneurs here in Oregon restored a 1973 Raleigh Super Course using the Nexus 8 speed hub. You can find the story of the restoration (and a link to the pictures) at

Shimano's 7sp internal hub doesn't appear to be as durable as their 8sp and the overall range is almost the same as SA's 5sp hub.

I don't know of anybody using the 7sp for brevets.
