Look out Ultra-Racers - Lance may show up

Anybody want to comment? Clearly, according to CC - 2008 will see Lance return to some remarkable fitness level. Carmichael says Lance's 2008 goal is to run 2:30 at the New York Marathon......and to try some "ultra-distance bicycle race."

The whole spiel is here see bottom or article .......http://www.trainright.com/articles.asp?uid=3181&p=1378

I saw that last week. Personally, I think that it's great. It will give the ultra-distance racing community some exposure and that's always good!

I'm really glad to hear that. When I started riding he was just hanging it up, so I didn't get to watch him that much. I have a few DVDs now. Thanks for the update.

Your right, I'm old enough to be his grandfather.

There is a picture of of Lance in this months Runners magazine;he looks lean and fit. I think he cut his 2006 marathon time by 14 minutes-amazing. I have no doubt that Lance could get back on the bike and be one of the top 5 in the world. He is an amazing athelete who should continue to take advantage of his God given gifts. Live Strong.

This picture is not from the marathon, but does show his continued comitment to staying fit.

Looks like he added some upper body training to his routine.

I would like to see Lance challenge the GDBR record but I doubt he would want to punish himself that much. Still he's running marathons which are a lot of punishment.

True, however if you look at many pictures of Lance during the latter TDF years you will notice that he has always had a little more upper body muscle than the typical pro cyclist. He's probably built up even a little bit more now since he's not racing. Most likely his fitness training has taken on a more balanced approach.
