Winter Training help

Hey im sorta in the off season at the moment for road cycling.. I havent got to do much racing/ or even riding in the 08 spring or summer. because i had surgery on my knee.. Im all better now but im way out of shape
what could i do to prepare for the 2009 racing season
btw im only 18

I gonna be riding my beater moutain bike over the winter, and maybe getting into cyclocross(but me being outta shape.. idk)

but anyways whats some off season training i can do
