135k on my fixie today...

from Cawston to Penticton, BC and back, with a detour to 3 mile beach near Naramata, BC for lounging in the sun. My computer logged 135k!
I was running 66 gear inches with a 44 tooth chainring and an 18 tooth cog. I recommend this gear ratio for anyone considering touring on a fixed through mountanous terrain!
The ride went really smoothly, although by the end my buns felt like they were on fire! This may have had to do with having toasted them a little too much at the beach!
Anyone else ride this highway (I think it is highway 5)

Congratulations on completing a fun ride.
Regarding your last question: quite a few have done the 1200km Paris-Brest-Paris on fixed, most are British. I haven't done more than a Super Randonneur on fixed.

Last Sunday I rode from west Toronto to Bowmanville fixed. According to Google maps, my route was 97.something miles. I was riding 42:16, and it was fairly hilly, but manageable for sure. I concluded afterwards that I need a better saddle!

nice! LD fixed is hard-core stuff.
i did back-to-back centuries on a fixed pista back in 2005 - but by the 2nd day one of my knees was killing me! which is why i ride geared now.
it was geared 40x14, probably too steep but at the time it felt right..

yeah, i woke up this morning with a killer pain in my knee! the patella was just not happy! then i remembered to strech, and that helped alot!
then i remebered this one yoga pose where you sit on your ankles, japanese style, and lay down till your back is flat on the ground, while squeeezing your knees together, it hutrs! but after doing this, the pain is 100% gone! B-)
