First century!

Well, I finally did it today. MS150 in Winston-Salem, NC. The conditions were terrible, 55-60 degrees, raining and miserable. Normally I like riding in that temp range, but with the rain, it was a bit too much. The guy I rode the last 15 or so miles with has done 4 iditarods, and he said he was never as cold as he was today. To top it off, it's been 85 all week. And of course, all my winter clothes were back home. But enough complaining, I did it in about 6 hours, but most of the century participants dropped out to do the shorter route because of the weather. I managed to tweak my knee via the cold, but oh well, I still finished with a decent time for a hilly century, and it was a lot of fun. I will be doing many more.

Your story gave me deja vu! Very similar situation happen to me on my first century. It was so worth it after I finished though!

Way to go! You've got a great first century story to tell. Will make the coming ones in better weather seem that much easier.
