here are some good maps...
Look on the right
http://http://www.adventurecycling.org/routes/index.cfm "They include information not available on typical road maps designed for motorists, for example, the locations of bike shops, sources for food and water, and listings of overnight accommodations (especially camping facilities and small motels)." |
I think this information is better suited to the Touring Forum.
Well, on second take, it WOULD be better suited to the Touring Forum IF the link worked. |
The link was just malformatted. It is http://www.adventurecycling.org/routes/index.cfm It looks like a commercial endeavor, so I don't know if it is appropriate for BF or not.
|
Actually, I did realize that it was just misformatted. And I also realized that it was a link to the Adventure Cycling site and their many cycling routes. I'm confident that more than half the Touring Forum participants (and likely even half or more the LD Forum participants) will know and love, or know and hate, the ACA maps.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Still belongs in the Touring Forum, though. |
Sorry it didn't work and I'm sorry I didn't post it to the touring forum I am kinda new at this
|
too bad that "long distance vs. touring" thread isn't a big banner that says "this ain't the touring forum, we're not sensible enough to stop for the night"
we also need a large type thread entitled, "I haven't trained, but I want to do a century in a month" |
