Cheat Mountain
Does anyone know if there is 2010 Cheat Mountain Challenge registration, or is it happening at all?

okay, thanks. I had really wanted to do the race this year but couldn't find any info.
do you know any other 100 mile-ish rides in August around that area?

Uber Goober
Googling doesn't turn up much. The website is here: https://www.wvcf.org/home/
They show the event, but when you click on the tab for more information, it says registration is required. If you register and click on it, it says access is denied. I find a half-dozen tourist-directory type places listing a date for this event, but none of them have links to an active website for it. You might try the "contact us" link at the website above. Either the event is not happening, or it's the world's worst job of getting the news out.

The event is not being held this year. Guess they couldn't get anyone to "volunteer" to run the logistics of it. At least that is what Dan at Charleston Bicycle Center told me, he has been involved in helping in the past. iirc he said they are planning to have it going again next year. The WV MS150 is at the end of August in the Lewisburg area with lodging at Snowshoe...

Well, there's the Mountain Mama Road Bike Challenge this Saturday - kinda short notice, but it's a great ride with plenty of climbing. Here's a map and elevation profile.
Otherwise, I know of nothing that's similar to the Cheat Mountain Challenge. Hopefully, they'll get their funding ducks in a row for 2011.

thanks for the suggestions, I've decided to ride the ACACAC in the Cincinnati area though. I'm staying with my girlfriend's aunt uncle there so it'll be cheaper lodging and falls on the same weekend.
