Do Inner Tubes make a Difference?

When using 35mm wide tires that weigh 400 grams do the Inner tubes being used make any difference in ride quality? or durability? or acceleration due to weight loss? ex. 90g vs 180g tubes, or do you want the heaviest you can find for flat prevention?

Tell me what brand you use and why, or if it even matters.

I don't think it matters.

The tires will determine rolling resistance, puncture resistance and so forth.

Unless you are saving every gram for TT / racing, the few extra grams between most brand name tubes won't matter. I don't use thorn-proof or other heavy tubes on the road as I've never found them to be any better at preventing flats. If it makes it through the tire, it'll make it through the tube. I also won't spend the money on ultra-light tubes for daily use. I just get whatever the LBS has on sale in the appropriate size and stock up on a couple extra.

I assumed he was comparing latex with butyl tubes. I think that latex tubes are fragile enough that it isn't worth it to me to use them. I know that weight weenines do, but if you were a real weight weenie, tubulars are superior.

I use Vittora super light tubes exclusively in my sporty bike. I don't find them anymore flat prone and they represent a good weights saving in dollar/gr terms.

I like bigger tires on my brevet bike though (32s), and I haven't yet bothered to look into lightweight tubes in those sizes...mostly because that bike has many other issues to solve before worrying about things like that.

If someone could point me in the direction of some, I would certainly appreciate it though!

I just ordered the Vittoria's from https://BicycleEverything.com
They have the larger sizes you need.
