A question for any Sebring 24hr veterans-

Is there any kind of live Leaderboard at this event? I will have minimal (maybe no) support and it would be nice to know my position while on the track at night.

Not that I can recall. But I'm recalling from 2006(?), which is when I last raced Sebring.

See ya out there, though I'm only racing the 12-hour. I'll be the idiot on the fixed-gear.

As I recall I believe there is someone manning a laptop in the pit area trying to stay warm /awake that has that info. I don't recall a "board" per se though.

Good luck!

More Sebring questions: I see where a lot of the riders will be wearing external catheters. Thats not for me so what facilities are available on that first 89 mile leg? Also how many gallons of urine do they spray on the short loop?

1. re: the question above, I recall there being a neutral stop at the turn-around of the big loop, so about at mile 50.

If you can't hang it off the side of the bike, you can always pull over and stop by the side of the road and tend to your business. Some are more comfortable with this than others. It's not uncommon in these events. No one is going to yell at you. Those who can and do urinate from the bike seat will do it from the rear of the paceline. Typically, even in the lead group, there are enough people who can't or don't want to urinate while moving (or, there are women in the group, which is frequently the case), that neutral (no attacks) pee stops will be negotiated among the riders. Typically, if you want a say and whether/when/where a pee stop occurs, you need to be participating in the pacemaking. Your vote counts in direct proportion to how much pulling you've been doing.

2. For everyone going to Sebring, stop by and say "hi" to The Octopus. Look for the 66 Fixed tent and for the nutter on a FG bike. That's me. Just doing the 12-hour this year. Have a good, safe race, everyone.

Using catheters is a bit goofy.

That's it.

Well at least the weather report is starting to look good for Sebring. A high of 80 and a low of only 68. There is a chance of showers, and a little wind, but I'll trade those for warmer temps any day.
