Got in 1,035 miles and 40,000 feet of climbing for June. First 1000 mile month for me so it was a good month. June is about my best month for logging miles due to weather and work (it always gets in the way). Congrats to those making their goals.

Oh yeh, forgot about this thread- but I did get my 1,000 miles in July, actually, over 1,200.

Rode every day in May, M-F was commute mileage and club rides on Sat and Sun. Last few years I've been hitting just over 2k miles each May for our local "May is Bike Month" event and wanted to see how extreme I could push it this year. Took 164 hours in the saddle. I was really worn out at the end of the month. Cut the mileage way back in June to recover.

Thousand miles a month is tough. I've hit it a few times, but find my average to be just south of that goal. I sit at about 800 mpm. Most of my miles are during the week when I commute roughly 50 miles per day, 4 to 5 days per week. If I ride on the weekends, I hit my thousand. If I don't, I won't. Lately, I've been busy on weekends, so no riding---thus, no 1000 miles per month.

July was a big month - 3,450 km (2, 156 miles), greatly aided by doing a 300-km brevet early in the month, and then London-Edinburgh-London between July 28-Aug 1, with all but 201 of the 1,419 km of LEL happening in July. Good weather and the minimum 40-km per day of commuting also helped. All of this on fixed gear, of course!

You guys/gals are something else. I'm in my second full year of cycling and have gotten over 900 miles in a month twice this year. Maybe I'll get there soon. About 850 for August, gotta get up earlier, the heat/ humidity is just tough here. I know, no excuses!

I'm in my second full year of cycling and have gotten over 900 miles in a month twice this year.
I can remember how completely exhausted I was after riding 50 miles as a thirteen-year-old. Last week, I went for a "moonlight" cruise at sunset. I rode 50 miles in four hours on a bicycle that weighed over 40 pound while loaded with lights and supplies. I got back to the starting point - and sat up and drank a couple of beers and watch some TV.
Had I tried such a ride without a lifetime of endurance activity - I would have been "out." by the time I showered......

Total for August: 2,280.9 km (1,425 miles). Helped by a 400 km brevet, as well as the last 200 km of LEL. But there were three rest days (two after LEL, one after the 400) to bring down the total!

September: 2,431 km (1,538 miles). The longish rides were the High Pass Challenge (up & down Mt. St. Helens, done in a "gold" qualifying time), and the Ryder Hesjedahl Tour de Victoria Gran Fondo (just over five hours in the rain). All on the fixed gear, plus some indoor track riding. Feeling good heading into what's left of the "Furnace Creek 508" (likely now to be the Santa Clarita-Trona 356) due to numerous road washouts, re-routings, and dysfunctional politicians shutting down the US government).

2,251 km (1,407 miles) for October. The month started off with the Trona 353, then began tapering down for the winter. Increased time on the indoor velodrome as the weather gets cooler and wetter.

November: 1,920 total km (1,200 miles). The fixie was in use for only the first and last five days of the month, as in between it was getting repaired (broken seat tube after 80,000+ km, aided by falling off the roof of a car at 75 mph), so I could only put 480 km on it. Instead, I rode my old carbon fiber Trek with Campag 10sp cassette. This gave me 1,112 km, including a 200 km brevet on Remembrance Day. And then I was training on the indoor velodrome for 360 km (32 km of it was part of the 480 km on the fixie, just so it isn't double-counted). Total km over all my bikes for the year is currently over 25,500.

I managed 1,220 in September. Having the MS150 at the end of the month helped.
