Buicky, yes, that's the word I was looking for!

Re. the shape, I intentionally skipped the step that makes the middle section of the saddle narrower. I did this partly out of laziness, and partly because I was curious how much it would matter. A lot of saddles that are popular today, such as the Selle Anatomica line, don't have a narrow center section; and no one complains. And I'm still not sure it matters, except aesthetically. But who cares if a saddle is ugly --ahem, i mean, buicky?

Does that thickness cause any discomfort, though?
I'd think it may irritate the inner thigh on longer rides.
Or not.
I like the Buicky look there.
I think the indent looks better than a full on cut-out.

i have used zip ties with a pair of holes punched in the bottom edge of the curve to dial this in exactly on my efforts. The single traditional hole was already there but it concentrated too much force on one area and brought irregularity of tension on the top.
I intentionally made an unshaped saddle without any of this this at first, just 3mm sheet on an old ideale frameit kind of folded into a flat sharper edged triangle more and more over time.
