Wow, that is lighter than I thought also. How did you decide in the Cascadia? I wanted to find one to ride before I ordered, but it seems I have to buy one just to try it. I do love our CoMotion Tandem though so do have a lot of confidence in CoMotion.

Checked with LBS and they said rack not included when weighed. Added fenders(SKS Longboard) and will weigh again later this week. I have a friend with an Americano which has been cross country three times. He had nothing but good things to say about the bike. I've only ridden about 50 miles so far, but I am very satisfied at this point. Very smooth ride. Very close to my Rivendell.

I`d love to see one of my bikes down to under 24 lb. I don`t know where it all comes from.

comos are excellent bikes. I own a norwester and love it. But I really dont ride it that often. But as far as quality, they are some of the best bikes out there. You will not be disapointed with a como

Thanks for all of teh input. I plan to place the order next week. I am sold on CoMotion based on our tandem experience with them. Why do you not ride the Norwester much? It seems to be a lighter version of the Cascadia meant for similar riding but not with any gear loaded...

Well here is the update on my new Cascadia. Co-Motion is an excellent company to work with. I had my custom frame in about 6 weeks from order date. Finish and workmanship was excellent as you would expect for an $1,800 frame. I have it equipped with Phil Wood hubs, Dura Ace BB, Ultegra 9 sp triple crank, XT rear derailleur, Ultegra Front Derailleur, Mavic 36h rims (wanted Velocity but got a great deal on these), Ritchie Biomax pro bars, Ultegra brifters, Cascadia fenders, Vittoria hyper treads, Tektro Hy/RD dual caliper disc brakes and a few other parts to hold it all together. I do not have a weight yet but the Phil Woods witt account for an extra pound probably. I found the ride to be comfortable and very neutral, not as stable as a I am used to with a touring bike, but not as quick and nimble as a racing bike. I have close to 500 miles on t now and I am still deciding how much I like it. Ride is comfortable, even extremely comfortable but I am still waiting for the handling as confidence-inspiring as some of my other bikes.
