Fork Selection Questions
I just bought a Litespeed Solano frame. It came with a Real design Signature fork. I will build it up for endurance/sportive type riding. Probably 105 11 speed, Rolf Prima wheels. This fork gets some pretty bad press. Any other recommendations? Should I go with a longer rake, like 45mm vs. 43mm? Thanks!

I don't think things like this matter. It only 'matters' on the internet.
If you need proof of this, attend a 200K brevet in your area and look at the bikes being used.

what sort of thing do people complain about? Short of exploding, there isn't much I would worry about

Some older forum post said these forks seem flexy and sketchy on fast descents. I live and ride in the Rocky Mts. so I don't want an iffy fork. I have no experience with this one so I'm looking for some feedback. Thanks!

do you know the A/C (axle to crown), fork rake, and steerer size that you are looking for? Does the bike have rim brakes?

When evaluating information of this kind, it really helps to know the weight of the rider(s) who were complaining about the fork; if the rider complaining about the flexy fork weighs much more than you, you probably won't have the same experience.

it's also possible that the complaints came from people that installed the fork themselves on a bike that it didn't fit. I'm guessing that is an occupational hazard for aftermarket fork manufacturers

The fork seems very well built and not flimsy. I'll just try it and makemy own decision. Thanks.
