Trek 1420 STI conversion
I have always done supported rides but am thinking of dipping my toe into self supported rides. I found an early 90's Trek 1420 in my father's garage in perfect condition. 3x7 Deore set up. The down tube shifters are the hardest thing for me to get use to. Is there alway to do a cheap STI conversion with some used parts off of ebay? It also has dropouts for a rear rack but am I likely to have issues for clearance on the pedal stroke? It is a 58 cm frame and am 6'1, 195 lbs. Is this worth playing with or would I do better to hit craigslist for another bike?
