You could look up Jennifer's email address on the RUSA website, and ask her. No idea what she would indicate, but you'd have an answer from the source rather than third-hand rumors.

My understanding is that it just became too much and they wanted to pass it on but they didn't find anyone who would run it to their standards so they just let it go and become a permanent.
