First Century in the books!
I have been trying to motivate myself to do a Century for some time now and at the beginning of several rides I said to myself "today is the day" but ended up with cramps 65mi in, rain, or just lack of motivation. I tried something different last week and told everyone I know that I was going to ride 100mi this weekend so the pressure was on. After posting here about cramping I took the advice of staying hydrated and drank more than usual using a 50/50 ratio of water and Gatorade along with packing some peanut butter sandwiches, endurolytes, single pack of sportslegs, and a couple advils just to take the edge off. The first 75mi or so was no problem. The last 25 really tested my wits, it was around 94 degrees yesterday in the Florida sun and it was brutally hot, my sunblock had wore off and I could feel a burn coming on, my legs were still going fine but I could tell they were close to finished, my butt was a bit more uncomfortable than usual but I kept on. I calculated my distance to where when I reached the car I would be right at 100 miles but when I got there I was 1/4mi short so I passed the car and finished it. I found it to be hard but had a nice sense of accomplishment afterwards and I now know to save the long rides for the cooler months. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice on getting it done!!!

Great job. Nearly any long ride is a mental thing. I find myself feeling the same way about 75% of the way into any ride, whether is is 40, 100, 120, or 200 miles.
Great preparation, and great accomplishment!
