Post Metric Century

I did a metric century two weeks ago and, I have felt the hub my back tire rubbing on the frame, and it making a grinding noise.

Has anyone had to take their bike to the LAB following a long ride?

Well, it's probably not due specifically to the long ride. Your bike shouldn't wear any more on a 60 mile ride than on three 20 mile rides. Just a coincidence that you noticed it then. But if you put lots and lots of miles on a bike, you expect to do some maintenance, too, it's part of it.

True, I just didn't have the trouble with back tire, until I had a bike mechanic take a look at it prior to the first leg of the ride.

Back tire issue = metric century ride...not! Agree that, after numerous miles, you have to do maintenance...but...IMHO...other than the miles, it has nothing to do with the "ride."
