I have a Ram 58 that I've ridden nearly 12000 miles since 2006. It's a great bike, highly responsive and highly versatile. Many of those miles were long-distance rides. Nowadays, I do my long-distance riding on 650B's with low-trail forks and a handlebar bag. So the Ram is my fast-commuter bike and is sitting across from me in my office, as usual. I usually run with 700cx32 and fenders. I've had it running with 700cx40 studded tires in the winter (but fenders won't fit in that setup). It could easily be converted to 650B but it would still have a high trail fork unless I had a new fork made, which doesn't seem worth it since I already have alternative 650B bikes.

Here's a very similar thread, oddly in the Bicycle Mechanics forum. I've copied an older response from last spring comparing my Rambouillet and Marinoni in that thread, so won't do it again here.
