Would you purchase a Valour?
Hello, I am doing a school project trying to figure out who the customers for the bicycle, the Valour might be. The survey should only take about 2-5 minutes. Once i have received results, I will draw conclusions about who the companies target market may/should be, and write a short write-up on it. Thank you.

What type of cyclist would you classify yourself as?
Would you/have you spent $1250+ on a bicycle?
Would you purchase a Valour?
Why/Why not?

I take it the manufacturer has commissioned your school to conduct this survey, and you're reporting back to them?
OK, I'll play:
What type of cyclist would you classify yourself as?
Not sure what you mean. Bike is my primary means of transportation. I ride it for commuting, errands and touring. Does that answer your question?
Would you/have you spent $1250+ on a bicycle?
Yes/Yes
Would you purchase a Valour?
No
Why/Why not?
I only buy bikes I can test ride.
The marketing spiel of the various gizmos implies the main focus is somewhere else than the bike itself.
The price implies the same: full CF frame with NuVinci, Gates belt drive, SP dynohub and disk brakes plus all the gizmos for USD 1250? Really?
Too much proprietary stuff.
Too many open questions about the gizmos too:
- the blind spot alert that covers all 3 meters behind the bike - if there's a very conservative 20 km/h speed difference with me vs. whoever is going to hit me from behind, I'll get the alert about 0,5 seconds before the crash, which is useless
- directional LEDs in the handlebars will be at least partially obscured by a handlebar bag, or pretty much anything else you'd like to attach to the bars
- no info regarding integrated lights and whether they're upgradeable as LED technology improves
- if the dynohub feeds all the proprietary integrated electronics, is it easy or even possible to connect better lights, or a USB charging device, or actually anything to the dynohub
