I hate ProBikeKit - axe to grind

These guys have pissed me off for the last time with the slow delivery to USA, they'll get no more of my orders, regardless of price. 30+ days and counting for an effing helmet, not that I really needed it urgently.

Still...they have consistently been the worst of the UK online sellers in this regard, i.e., overseas shipping. Fer crissakes, 2 guys in a tiny apartment down a back alley in Hong Kong can do it better.

...back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Maybe your shipment was caught in customs and is now effected by the government shutdown.

So perhaps if not PBK it may be US based distribution points that are clogging up the works.
I've never bought from them but is there tracking available. Perhaps if there is you can see where the package stalls during the delivery process.

Now this is some hatred I can get behind.

Ordered a pile of misc crap...tubes, bottle cages, etc - took a week to get here.

Ordered a saddle a week later, took over a month to arrive.

Wiggle on the other hand, always consistent. Had a buddy just order wheels from them. They came in two days.

So far I've had pretty good luck with PBK after 5 orders. Average time is 2 weeks and the long was 3 weeks for one order. With their prices being what they are, I cannot complain.

I've run into variable delivery times from several different vendors in the UK shipping by mail. Though they ship within a day, the items get hung up at the US port of entry for variable lengths of times ranging from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. It's not the vendor in these cases but clearing US customs. I often get items in a week to 10 days, but almost as often they can take 2-3 weeks. If I'm in a hurry for something, I don't order it from the UK.

yeah, I was prepared to wait quietly for 2-3 weeks which is typical...30+ days is shameful, regardless of customs...

I totally agree .... 30+ days for shipping is outrageous - doesn't really matter what the conditions are\were, wth the exception that they didn't have what you ordered in stock.

This is the issue.

Once orders hit customs it is a black hole. Shippers have no control, access, influence or anything else. Even tracking numbers can dry up. This is the bane of our existence on occasion.

I've have ordered lots of things from PBK in the past but since the acquisition I've only ordered from them twice.

They've changed dramatically. The new owner eliminated PBK points and the generous coupon system (they used to have a constant 10% off coupon). They also used to have a small free shipping threshold. Their customer service now is almost unreachable.

There's other UK sites that have similar deals. I try to steer clear from PBK nowadays.

Evanscycles.com is my favorite UK site to order from. Free shipping over $80, customer service is surprisingly quick & helpful and prices on some things aint so bad. It has never come close to a month for anything to reach me, although Im not sure if me being in canada has anything to do with it.

I've had orders ship from the UK to Florida in 5 days.
The recent average is 2 weeks.
I got my last pair of bib shorts from them for $32.
I just ordered a pair of bib tights for $45.
When you hit it right, their prices are awesome.
I'd never order tubes or any other immediately necessary
item from them, but they are good for certain things.
Heck, it takes a week+ by UPS from Bike Tires Direct to
get to my house.
I wish more sellers would use USPS, like Cateye.

Free shipping is with $40 or more purchase. That's not bad. Used to be all free to U.S.
Not sure what happened with new ownership. Didn't read anything about it.

I've seen many thousands of dollars of medical equipment components vanish into customs for weeks, shutting down production until they finally show up. And that's through fedex freight, not regular post.

They sent me an email apologizing for the delay. But I doubt I'll ever order anything from them if I actually need it in a timely manner. My friend said he waited 6 weeks for his pro 4's ... I'm waiting going on 4 weeks now for mine. Good luck

I just reviewed my past order. I've had 2 water bottles in the past that were shipped for free. That was $11.

Oh...this one I wont ever forget...

Once it took long for my items to arrive. I thought they got lost/stolen so I asked for a refund. They did refund me, but when the items arrived a week later after the refund, I told them I was sending the money back (I'm an honest person). All I got from them was an invoice and not even a "thank you".

This was post acquisition.

Why not pay for EMS Express mail if you need the item quickly?
