I too had a marvelous weekend: with family in San Diego. Lots of great conversation over beer and food. Couldn't have been better.

I mentioned it on the Training thread, the Velo Club Monterey annual picnic, and it was a great time. There were probably 50 people there, and I think it was attended by close to everyone in the club. Many of us gals were doing what I would have thought was an exclusive guy thing - showing off our war wounds to each other. I won for visible marks - my shiner is pretty impressive! There was plenty of wine, lots of laughing, hugging, stories, too many sweets (which I ate too much of), dogs meandering around, and just a fun relaxing time. Yes, the racing season is over - for now!

Porsche is in one piece. I'm thrashed from walking 4-5 hours a day. It's the slow walking and standing around that kills me.

Agreed. We spent a lot of time in museums on our summer vacation and it wiped my legs out more than any 100 mile ride.

So taking a break from the campaign (see the 33), I figured I'd get some real work done and finish up the lighting in my garage. Part way through I realized I needed to pick up some parts so I headed off to the Despot. When I got home the garage door was acting up. Then it wouldn't open. Which is nice after you disconnected most of the lighting in said garage.

So I got the ladder out and started screwing with the opener. After 45 minutes or so I touched the feed rail and the motor and found there's a grounding problem. Got a nice defib in the process. And I'm feeling much calmer now that the voices are gone.

That really hurt.

Electricity scares me. That's why I'm a mechanical engineer.

Power electrical engineer here. You do not want to know what I know. Glad you are okay. That is why we have garage door mechanics.

My younger brother is an electrician, working with equipment where most mistakes are only made once. No matter what they've done before hand, he considers it a bit of a leap of faith when he throws one of the big switches.

Yep. Bored now that you aren't campaigning, and haven't been shocked in the last few hours?

I learned how to do home wiring by trail and sometimes error. My job as operations director involves many different mechanical systems. 110 and 220 I'm fairly good at, 240 I don't get.

Mefistofele. Very well done. Staging was spectacular. We've got the Flying Dutchman and the Barber of Seville in November. I can never see the latter without having this in my head:

Deliveries in SoCal? What? did you get confused? And stop being so selfish when your wife is about to have surgery. One item on that list was solely for you!
