Swimming, ******g, quiche? How long before we talk about techniques for hemming kits for "that killer fit look"?

I did two hours of fixed gear last night, ate smoked chicken wings with a side of baked beans and drank two tall micro brew ales.

At my mother-in-law's, about to start a set of high intensity scratch biscuit intervals. So much for weight loss...

Cat heads? With gravy? Gooooooood!!! (And that's why I weighed close to *** when I left the GoM).

Day off yesterday. Recovery today.

AJ - still, 30 of 11 with TWO mechanicals? I get that you wanted to do better in the standings, but you DID do better! Heavens, you are a monster.

On another note, coach thinks I should get a track bike. I'm trying to find a way to afford one. Gosh, I'm an easy mark.....

No doubt a little tuck here and there would improve the fit.

You can find deals like this for <$500 for a real track bike, or <$350 for cheaper stuff. Another example.

Components on the bargain bikes aren't going to be fabulous or light, but a lot of the concerns you'd have with a shifting bike go away.

Day off the bike, other than an easy commute. Well, maybe not so easy. I had words with a driver who claimed I made an illegal maneuver to leave the bike lane to make a left turn. I told her I was happy she looked up from her lap in time to see me turn left, which is not illegal, but texting is. Cue string of profanities.

@sarals, used track bike? Send me a PM. (And since I am still riding it, I don't think it is cracked. )

I might as well buy a new bike with the single system since mine has wheel and shifting issues. My brother in law bought a 29" Superfly FS 1x11 this year. I could buy a quality bike in 1x11 and still say to my wife "but David's new mountain bike cost more than double what my bike cost!"

Does one more straw break the camels back?, or one more hair on a beard goes unnoticed?... and there is addition by subtraction, ...or a retirement gift? I can't use the race winning $ fund that's intended for the "racing retirement party" that is still a few years away.

I've been selling some bikes and stuff lately. Seems to me like subtraction by subtraction.

I'm sure that I'll get over it.

I have been scheduled to *** this week, but haven't so far. Driving to AL with grandson and smokers and the necessary breaks for them, recovering from that drive, then a coma-inducing lunch today. I did manage about a 45 minute walk today, but that's it so far. I haven't felt this lazy for a while.

Two days off the bike was nice. Sets of short hill sprints on 45" this AM then heading to our shack in W PA for the weekend. State Cross Champs in two weeks, so I'll focus on short anaerobic efforts, mounts/dismounts and Z4. Got to squeeze a out whatever remains of summer strength and fitness for 45'. Hoping for a podium/medal for the team.

Still a few more weeks before the structured plan commences for the next cycle.

I forgot to write down the TSS and IF from yesterday. I ride with a girlfriend Thursdays, we "hill train" together. Yesterday was rollers, and both of us were underwhelming. Tired, I guess. Still, it was a good ride.

55 minutes of recovery this morning before work, on a spin bike, listening to Pandora. Thank heavens for Pandora!

AJ, how do you manage to sell a bike? I have trouble even giving one away! I've decided my Look 566 needs to go to a home with someone who will ride it, 'cause I don't anymore. But, it doesn't seem to be worth the carbon it's made out of....
