Still fun to read, rapwithtom! I just can't believe how it all has changed, and it makes me happy to witness it. That course is the first one that things started to make sense for me. If I didn't stick with the pack up that little rise after the first turn, I was done and got to do a hard training ride by myself. Surfing, cornering, just stuff. I think you had a good time that race too, if I'm not mistaken. Just a huge thumbs up to you!

Yessir. That guy, with his Mr. Innocent face, and they forced me out whine, really got to me. It was best to walk away, as I wasn't part of the actual race, so my input sure wasn't needed.

Thanks rapwithtom. Same here. Missing the atmosphere, and folks such as yourself. This solitary training is a little tough, and once the TT in June is done, I will have to re-evaluate this stuff. Morgul TT is next. I sure need to go do something!

R'Ex, Congrats on the win although I was not sure you were eligible for the SoCal jersey since you have moved to NorCal. I thought, wow that is a fast time.

No jersey, we were a mutt team. It was racing for racing's sake. Very cool to have a former pupil riding this well, though it's a more than a little different for me to be the one hanging on. The monkey is talking a lot of stuff right now.

Shut up monkey.

Nice work Tom. I didn't turn up for this race, since the weather was craptacular (my race actually was cancelled, so glad I didn't drive an hour each way for that).

I loved that race last year, and did well at it. Sorry to have missed it this year.

So apparently that was a course record for the 110+, according to the groupies asking for my autograph. I figure I hold at least 22% of that based on pull time.

Some great racing here in the Master's Forum.

When Tom learns his tradecraft, the rest of Colorado better start investing in some altitude tents...........cause living at 7000' ain't gonna cut it.

When Ex learns his tradecraft.......................I mean............. never mind. Good to see you back in the saddle, loose bolts and all.

IBOWHUNT, 4 out of 19 ain't to shabby, well done.

valygrl, Another podium.....nice.

globecanvas, I'm glad to see you posting here more often. You're noise to signal ratio is refreshing for a youngish guy.

Eagle Double Down Enduro

My first Enduro, on my new Rock Plow bike. There were 6 stages of mostly buff single-track, with only two rock gardens.

I've been riding my new bike for about a month, and really don't know how to ride it well yet. When the trail is steep and fast, the bike just rips, but in the tight and twisties, it's like I'm riding a John Deer; total operator ineptitude.

I was racing in the Veteran's Open class, and didn't know the other three racer's. At the first stage, I missed my clip-in, and rode stiff the whole run. Stage two, missed ciip-in and rode stiff, blew third turn. Stage three, clipped in before the timing mat, still rode stiff. Stage four, watched competitor try to clip-in for like ten seconds, felt conflicted, rode less stiff, made up some time. Stages five and six were kinda like stage four.

It's sounds boring looking at the report(?) above, but I had more fun, then at any other race I've competed in..........ever.

1/4

Here's a promo video of the race.

That means the autograph I have must be worth millions! I'm transferring it to an old jersey and putting it on eBay. I'll be rich and I can retire!

Congrats, Ex! OMG, you're amazing! Heathie and I are so proud to be in your coaching stable!

@nacler22 - you're a machine.
The video is awesome. I'd like to try that type of bike one day but I know me and don't think it would end up well.

Just to be clear, that is not me in the video. It was shot by a 19 y.o. named Dallas for the race promo/teaser. He is on the same bike as me, but beats me on style points, talent, and the heavy burden of self preservation.

To put it in perspective, his time was 10.29.80 for all race stages. Mine was 12.18.20. The Pro winner killed it with 10.18.10
