Hi,

I think I drank some bad water on Sunday that I got from a faucet near Lake Mead at a picnic area just off the relatively new River Mountain Trail near Henderson, NV. The drive back to SoCal yesterday was excruciating and once home you can probably imagine the joys that followed. Anyway, I decided to weigh myself this morning and I was 147 lbs -- down almost 6 lbs from Friday. Now if I could stay that weight. BTW, I don't recommend this form of weight loss. I am still suffering a little.

Still... effective. Where exactly is this faucet?

Careful, you could be drinking a masking agent.

Still hanging around 2kg up from normal race weight, but my legs look totally different than the beginning of the year. At least a little of that has to be muscle.

Dammit! I hate when you do that!

141.2 this morning.

I'm 5'6". My goal is 135.

Since I don't know what to change re diet, I assume any change will come due to exercise, and I dread the hurt that involves.

Time to consult my RD on that.

Hi, still not completely recovered from my digestive thing but I was 146 lbs this morning -- 6 lbs less than last Friday which was my last weight check before going to Vegas. I am sure a few pounds will come back as I recover but I hope I can stay at or below 150 lbs as I work my way back into my (now delayed) training groove for nationals.

CanNOT wait to be there again. Clothes fit better, climbing easier, etc. etc. 6-ish lbs. makes a big difference.

Ask any of our manorexic friends here...heh, heh.

I think I'm stabilizing -- post food poisoning -- at 149 lbs. Now I have to lose 4-5 real pounds.

I'm still hovering at 135, which is the bottom. If I get lighter than that, I start to loose (what little) performance (I have). In fact, in spin this morning I kinda struggled. We did lots of high cadence intervals, each successive one longer than previous one, with ONLY ten seconds of recovery between each - and I was not doing terribly well towards the end! I think my weight ties to hydration, and I'm tilting towards the "de" end of that spectrum....

141.0 this morning.

Sara, keeping drinking! I drank 2 bottles on my recovery ride this morning and didn't gain anything weight-wise.

The trick is to drink until you think your back teeth are afloat...then drink some more. And do it every day.

I'd be so much more productive if I had a catheter instead of planning my day around clean restrooms.

143 this morning. Getting food poisoning after a 200k ride and not being able to eat for a couple days is an effective way to lose weight, but probably not a good way to improve poweer/weight ratio.

With all the food/drink poisoning being reported on here, I'm clearly going to have to move to the West Coast if I'm ever to lose any weight. Still 201 lbs. More drastic action required. When one is forced to spend less time on the bike there are more hours a day in which to eat...

Ugh, settling out at 151 lbs a week after emptying my body from food poisoning. Hopefully I can get back under 150 lbs pretty quickly.
