Photos ripped off from Barry Lee, Sanitas Sports' facebook page, he is the promoter.

Pulling the boys, about lap 3

The carnage I caused in the back (not really):

Crush? Big George (that's his name, no relation to Hincappe)? That guy can climb! Okay, I'll crush him!

Thanks, Shovel!

Valygrl, those photos remind me a bit of that (really cute) Specialized commercial of the young 'un outrunning Boonen! Oh, you've just dashed all those young hopes. (And probably some old ones, too).

Great photos!!

I found some photos of me at the Watsonville Crit (you can see clearly how I inherited my Dad's chin - gee, thanks, Dad).

There are others on the photo site. You can see the gals I was "racing" against there.

Notice that there no photos of me in a group.

In the last photo I was 1) Trying to get over a drainage culvert without crashing 2) Trying not to hit the curb 3) Trying not to hit the photographer 4) Lap 30 of 34 - trying to finish!

Valygrl. I liked the pics of you pacing, ahem, crushing the young men. That is going to leave scars.

I caught Shovel's drift, believe me - and there will be NO riding today. It's a rest day (if you call cleaning floors, vacuuming and doing laundry R E S T), so I'm off the bike. Until Friel's book arrives (it's shipped, according to Amazon), I'll continue with my routine of spin class tomorrow, then the A group ride on Saturday (once again, I'll mingle with the front and be a little aggressive this time). Sunday will be a recovery ride. I understand there is a crit in Berkley Sunday, but I have picked up a night shift on Saturday and won't be able to make it - but I'd love to.

Is it "normal" for the bug to bite THIS hard???

I'll see what Friel offers as soon as the book gets here, and I'll structure a training plan (with expert input from all of you) after that. Right now I'm reading "Anastasia" - not quite Friel!

I can miss a race and be okay with it if there is a big reason (you know, like a death in the family) and be okay with it. But other than that, well...

I figured I would do the team-required five races this year. I've done 20 so far.

I race a lot. 32 so far this year, and I don't do TT's (not often), stage races, or the track. All road, mostly crits. So my racing jones has to ebb and flow throughout the season or I'll burn out. I left cycling due to burnout, and I won't let that happen again.

Let's see. I started in March (before that I ran 10K's and did tri's). I did back to back races at Sea Otter, then did a circuit race in June. My first (ever) crit was two weeks ago. My next is in two weeks. USAC says five races, so do I. I wish it was five times that!

As in the Romonovs, or E.L. James? If the latter, it even has a helicopter... "Charlie Tango" is almost a character.

E.L. James! Agreed, Charlie Tango - well, all helicopters have souls, anyway, and the author gets it! The book is "Fifty Shades Darker" - umm, wow...

VanceMac, thank you! It's striking for sure. Next year I hope to be in a different kit, riding on a real team, not just by myself.
